Together, we are dedicated to demonstrating how our two great countries can move together and provide the essential leadership required to solve the global climate crisis. Our values are as disparate as our leaders, but we are in a unique position as youth to seek out our commonalities despite these differences.
The Exchange grew out of the Sino-American workshop at COP15, “Our Shared Future: Hello, Nihao,” which Al Gore praised as a model for our two countries’ leaders. Several of the organizers from Copenhagen have joined forces with other passionate youth to establish this long-term collaboration.
Over the next two weeks in Cancun, we will host a series of workshops and shared actions. Each day we will also blog here, sharing the perspectives of Chinese and American young people on the progress of the negotiations. All posts will be translated into both languages.
The first workshop will be on Tuesday, November 30, at 1:30pm in the Climate Village.
The second workshop will be on Thursday, December 9th, at 7:00pm at the Climate Village (time is subject to change). We invite all civil society participants, industry leaders and country delegates to share in our reflections on how our two countries can better contribute to acting on climate change.
